                      Go Hawks!!

The busy time of the year will start this week as more and more sports start to get active. This week you will see both boys/girls Soccer getting their act together while a little Swimming on the side as the Hawks will welcome a Last Chance Meet for all those swimmers that will be on hand trying to swim their event with the hopes of qualifying for District Meets later this month.

Swimming goes at their season much like Track & Field does with several schools that come together for their competition. This sport does not have a plethora of schools that have a swim team and that makes CL with a disadvantage as they compete against 5A schools and larger schools.

Add another road block in not having a Dive team to help with the Swimming crew. That would be the same as seeing a Track Team without any points coming from the Field events. Hence the word, Track & Field.

Soccer will have a games going now through March and hopefully into April for playoff contests.

Last year the Boys Soccer team went 3 rounds into the playoffs which was (at the time) the furthest a Hawk team had advanced until this year’s football team.

Alayna-Gayle says Go Hawks!!

The Boy’s Soccer Team lost some key Seniors but will be back for another try of reaching a winning record and carving out a place for more playoff battles.

CL’s Girls Soccer will have a chance of making a statement this year much like the Boy’s did last year. This season, the Girls, have many players with a lot of experience and will look to blaze a run in the playoffs as well.

Basketball will be entering the last stage of their campaign with District 28-4A games starting in earnest this week.

The Ladies team will start this Tuesday on the road in Boerne and after going winless last year in district play, this Hawk squad has served notice that this might be a season where they too can have the T-Shirt shops in action when the order comes in for more contests.

Canyon Lake ladies have been ranked for a few weeks now and in the TGCA Poll coming in at 12th and for the TABC Poll they hold down the 20th spot.

As you are aware, each team has to finish their district games being ahead of just one school in order to make the playoffs. Such is life in a district that composes just 5 teams.

The Boy’s Basketball team is presently on a 2 game winning streak and will start their District 28-4A games on Friday after fighting it out with Wimberley at the Hawk Nest this Tuesday.

This will be a fun January as the Spring Sports start getting in shape for opening their season during the Month of February.

Canyon Lake Sports will be Broadcasting Home District Games!

Also note the (**) on the schedule as these contests will be brought to you by Canyon Lake Broadcasting. This entity much like The ReSporter would like for you to use these sponsors that support, with their advertising dollars.

That is a huge undertaking and we ask that you patronize and let them know you saw or heard their Ad on these publications.

Go Hawks!!
