Tennis Dynamic Duo Win Floresville Doubles Match

Ian Hasness and Taylor Isley are all smiles after winning Floresville Doubles Tournament.

Dynamic Dual Win Doubles in Floresville last Friday in Tennis.

Seniors Ian Hasness and Taylor Isley are starting where they ended last year as these two veterans took the Doubles title in the Floresville Tournament last week.

Head Tennis Coach Kirsten Smith said it best when speaking about the matches the Hawks Tennis players battled a few days ago.

“After two rainouts this season, last Friday, the tennis team had a crazy weather day with cold and misty weather off and on,” Coach Kirsten said. “That did not stop the players from playing their best. Our successful tennis duo showed why they were so successful last year by winning the tournament. They had a great win in the semifinals beating Hondo in three sets. It was definitely a nail-biter but they showed their Hawk spirit and dedication and won the match.”

That was not all as there were some more players that had a good showing.

Don Chente says keep going strong Hawks!!

“Another kudos to the new doubles team of Hayley Gallagher and Hannah White for winning their first match against Judson a 6A school,” Kirsten continued. “Unfortunately they lost the 2nd round but played well…..the other players had tough first round matches and due to the weather they cancelled the consolation matches…..I would also like to give a big thanks to Erica Naud who was a great help.”

This could be one of CL’s best years on the tennis courts and more quests to come this Spring.

Go Hawks!!
