This time around the Hawks had a solid Senior Class and that group of players will be known for having the first CL winning record along with an, ‘IT’ game, played against the Boerne Greyhounds during the first round of district contests.

Kat Weber signing on the dotted line for a chance to play at Trinity University

Canyon Lake’s, Kat Weber, will be taking her bat and glove to College as she signed to attend Trinity University next year playing softball this past week.

Weber was a mainstay for CL during her career on the diamond as this young lady locked down the catcher position the past 3 seasons after following Brianna Young and Katy Payne.

Number 6 for the count down will be a Girl’s Soccer game as the Hawks have continued to put competitive teams on the field since their first kick in 2010.

That 2010 team is still the only girls soccer team with a winning district record as this upstart team finished that year with an 8-5-1 slate and then became one of many teams to make the playoffs that second year of battles.

Next up for this year’s Top Ten was how well CL’s Football game with Austin Akins.

Canyon Lake had started the year strong but suffered two losses in a row and not knowing what a 6A team would bring to the table had some concerns for coaches and fans.

Akins was not a formidable team but drawing from many more students might pose a problem before games started in district play next up.

The ReSporter was able to catch up with Coach Paisley for a precursor for this coming school year.
